Developer Steel Wool Studios has confirmed that future updates to FNAF: Security Breach will address various bug fixes and performance issues.
Future updates for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach will fix performance issues and known bugs, in the words of developer Steel Wool Studios. A departure from the previous one FNAF starters, Security breach takes place in a mall for a single night of horror instead of the franchise holder “five nights“chaos.
A blog post on the Steel wool studios website addresses the performance issues that plague Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, clearly indicating that the developers plan to correct any issues to the best of their ability. The post, in particular, describes four different areas of focus, one of which relates to framerate hiccups related to visual settings. While the team is working on “add a check for it“In a future patch, some users may find it useful to restart their game after applying visual changes. Further, larger frame rate drops result from Security breach load time masking system, which will require a lot of testing before an update can go live. Steel wool further noted that shipping Security breach on PS4 in time, the studio had to cut corners on the texture resolution front. While a fix for this particular issue is already in the works, it also warrants extensive QA testing. Finally, the team intends to deal with the PC disk size once all of the above are sorted out.
At the time of writing, it is unknown when the fixes mentioned above will be released for gamers. The fact that two of the four points of interest require long evaluation periods suggests that it may be some time before FNAF: Security breach the next major patch is ready for prime time.
Steel Wool Studios and publisher ScottGames deployed Security breach earlier this month on PC and PS4. The road to the release hasn’t been easy, given his two delays and the retirement of creator Scott Cawthon amid backlash surrounding his political donations.
