Samsung One UI 4.0 (Android 12) Update Bugs, Issues and Tracking

New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….

The original story (published November 23, 2021) follows:

A few days ago, Samsung announced the official launch date of its next Android 12 based skin named One UI 4.0. Unsurprisingly, it’s available on the Galaxy S21 series.

The first phones that received the update include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. As you might expect, the latest version brings several new features focused on personalization, privacy, and tighter integration with other Samsung products.

What’s surprising is that this time around, the release of One UI 4.0 doesn’t coincide with the launch of a new flagship phone. However, the company is already rolling out the stable version of One UI 4.0 to some devices.

Looking at the current state of affairs, we see that Samsung is a month ahead of the game compared to last year, which is a really good sign. Samsung has also confirmed that it will soon bring One UI 4.0 to the latest generation of Galaxy S and Note devices as well as the Galaxy Z, A series and tablets.

However, not all features may be available on all devices running One UI 4.0 due to hardware limitations. Despite this, One UI 4.0 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor as it picks up several new features such as Android 12’s Theme Engine.

That said, if you want to know which devices will receive One UI 4.0, be sure to check out our dedicated One UI 4.0 update tracker.

But, as is the case with every new software update, there are some bugs and issues that will need to be fixed in future releases. That being said, we’ll be keeping track of any bugs and issues that eventually show up on One UI 4.0.

We hope that Samsung recognizes and fixes these issues so that users can enjoy One UI 4.0 as they should be.

Update 7 (December 22)

IST 12:02: New reports now indicate that there might be a catastrophic error with the Google Play system on some Samsung devices after updating to One UI 4 based on Android 12.

This lead to Samsung shuts down the deployment of this update.

Update 8 (December 25)

IST 6:35 p.m .: Samsung has assured users that they are currently reviewing the current One UI 4.0 with Google following the error with Google Play that led to the rollout being suspended.
