In accordance with the new notification, the Railway Recruitment Board has amended some of the “items” listed in the centralized job notice No. RRC-01/2019. In the notification, the Railroad Recruitment Board made changes to various aspects of the exam, such as EWS (Economically Weaker Section) booking, standardization of multisession paper scores, position preference, and document verification. In the new notification, the RRB said that it has discontinued the second stage of the CBT (Computer Based Test) and that there will now be only one single-stage CBT exam. In addition, the RRB has indicated that applicants belonging to the EWS category can present a certificate issued after the date of notification at the time of verification of documents. Meanwhile, the RRB has also changed the number of candidates called for document verification. Earlier, applicants called for document verification, after qualifying in CBT and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), were 1.05 times or five percent higher than the number of vacancies . However, the RRB has now decided that the number of applicants called for document verification will be equal to the number of vacancies notified.
The RRB in the notice said that the normalization of ratings will be based on the percentile-based method. In the event that two or more applicants obtain the same percentile score, the merit of the applicants will be determined by age criteria.
The RRB has also made some changes to the designation of Assistant Switchman. In accordance with the new notification, the designation will henceforth be known as “Pointer”. Candidates should note that the RRB Group D exam is due to take place from July 2022.
