Karnataka release revised dates for 2nd PUC after JEE-Mains schedule clash

The first JEE-Mains phase will be carried out in April while the second phase is scheduled for May.

The dates of the 2nd Karnataka PUC exam which coincided with the dates of the JEE Mains have been rescheduled by the Karnataka Department of Pre-University Education. The dates that clashed were April 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21.

In accordance with the new calendar, the dates are as follows: Logic and Business Studies exams will be held on April 22, Hindi on April 23, Economics on April 25; and Hindustani Music, Psychology and Chemistry on April 26. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Urdu, Sanskrit and French exams will take place on April 27. Kannada and Arabic will take place on April 28. Sociology, electronics and computer exams will take place on April 30, geography and biology on May 2 and English on May 4. Articles on information technology, retail, automotive, health and beauty and wellness will take place on May 5th. Mathematics, Education and Basic Mathematics exams will be held on May 6. Optional exams in Kannada, Accounting, Geology and Home Science will be held on May 7th. History and physics exams will take place on May 9, and political science and statistics on May 11.

The first phase of the JEE-Mains will take place in April while the second phase is scheduled for May, National Testing Agency (NTA) officials said on Tuesday (March 1). The first phase of the engineering entrance exam will take place from April. from May 16 to 21 and the second phase, from May 24 to 29.

The Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) consists of two tests. The first test is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs – BE and B.Tech – in NITs, IIITs and other center-funded technical institutions, as well as funded institutions and universities and recognized by the governments of participating states. This is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.

The second test is conducted for admission to the B.Arch and B.Planning courses. “Applications for JEE-Main 2022 will start from today, March 1, and the deadline to complete the JEE Main 2022 application form for the first session is March 31, 2022. The exam will be held in Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English and Gujarati,” an official said.

Last year, the exam was held four times to provide students with flexibility and a chance to improve their grades. The first phase took place in February and the second in March.

The next phases were planned for April and May, but these were postponed due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The remaining two phases were conducted in August and September of last year.
